About
I’m Oliver, a watercolourist based in London. While this great city is a constant source of wonder and inspiration, my love of travel and the things I experience away from the capital inform my work just as much.
I excelled in art at school and studied to foundation level but art then took a back seat while I did a more conventional degree followed by a commercial job for the best part of 15 years. The allure of painting never fully went away and I rediscovered watercolours as the perfect medium to express my creativity.
I spotted a gap in the market for affordable, original, handpainted art greetings cards a few years ago and in 2018 launched my own range of watercolour cards, subsequently catching the eye of Fortnum & Mason, where they are stocked in their iconic Piccadilly store. Each is a one-off painting of some of my favourite subjects featured within this site: from city street and London sights, to mountain vistas, beaches and landscapes. Some customers choose to send the cards to loved ones, others (so I’m told) keep and collect them.
More recently I’ve been experimenting with abstraction, and a larger, looser format.
If you have a picture in mind or a photo you’d like interpreting in watercolour, I’m always happy to take a look. You can contact me at odannart@gmail.com for more information. I can be found on Instagram @odannart.
